A great trip home

I was driving home on Sunday with the worst headache that I had ever had in my life. When I got home I thought that I would be better in the morning, but I woke on Monday and was still in severe pain, so I went to the doctor. From the doctor I went to the ER and from the ER I was admitted to the hospital. I had viral meningitis, it was a horrible couple of days, but now I am out of the hospital and on the mend.

I was spammed and it hurt 2

About a month ago our school got a new spam filter. Oh my, I wanted to be suck a jerk and send that guy an email and tell him thanks for taking my advise and getting a new spam blocker. Oh wait I guess the joke is on me, this one is even worse than before. Dang it.

Vote or Die

With the 2008 elections almost upon us we need to get ready for them. So go read up on Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart at colbertstewart2008.com Or if you are in college search your facebook for a Colbert Stewart 2008 group, if your college does not have one start one, this is serious stuff.

I wish I were still 8

I just got back from a preview weekend at Truett Seminary in Waco Texas. I had a real good time and I think that I got a real good idea of what Truett is like. The aspect that appealed to me the most was the community that I saw between the students and faculty. In fact I liked just about everything about the place. The only thing that I don't like about Truett is that it is very far from my family in Atlanta. For some reason I think I am scared to be that far away from my family, though I am not sure about this. I might feel scared because I am graduating from college and know that I have to grow up. I ask myself if I were to goto Beeson in Birmingham would I be scared and I honestly don't know. The fact that Waco is so far away from Atlanta I may see that I will have to grow up faster than I would in Birmingham. I hope I figure this out soon.

I was spammed, and it hurt

About a year ago my school started to use GWGuardian to block spam and viruses. Since this time the spam I receive has doubled in size. Why? Before GWGuardian I would receive maybe 10 spam emails a month, now I get 20 a day. Before GWGuardian Mail would just put my spam in the spam folder and everything was fine. Now I receive a list of all my spam every day, basically a spam email that is a list full of spam. I would just use Mail to make this email spam but GWGuardian blocks so much important email that I am forced to check it every day. So I sent the postmaster a little email. Here it is.
Subject: GWGuardian=worthless
What is wrong with GWGuardian, this is the worst spam blocker I think I have ever seen. Nothing works on the application. If I add someone to my blocked list nothing happens I still receive messages from the spammer. And like wise I have sent mail to myself and GWGuardian blocks it so I add myself to my Friendly list the emails still fail to reach me. This is unacceptable as there are many other applications that actually do block spam.
Three days later I receive this email from the postmaster.
You can come by the office at any time to discuss GWGuardian and find out what has been going on. My office is located under the cafeteria, down the hall from the BSU.
I was like come by your office so I can tell you what I just told you, and you can say we have been working hard on this stuff. Ok sure. Later the same day I receive 5 more emails from him within 20 minutes of each other.

Email 1: You can come by the office at any time to discuss GWGuardian and find out what has been going on. My office is located under the cafeteria, down the hall from the BSU.

If you prefer, we can exclude your name from the GWGuardian server and you can deal with your spam messages as you would like.

Thanks,
My grateful response: That would be great if you could exclude my name from GWGuardian and allow me to deal with my spam messages myself. Thank you very much.
Then I receive the next 4 emails all within a few minutes.
Email 2:This will be taken care of. In the future, please have all the information before sending childish emails.

Thanks,
Email 3:Please keep in mind that the virus scanning will continue. I will not cut that off.

Email 4:Please keep in mind that the virus scanning will continue. I will not cut that off.

I will release all currently held spam as well from this system.

Email 5:So when can we schedule a time for you to come by and talk about these problems?

Thanks,

He called my email childish. Then went on to spam me with back to back emails that should all have been in his third email. Is that not childish? I was not personal attacking him when I sent my first email I was just explaining that GWGuardian is worthless. Sometimes I just don't understand people, I mean the way he responded to me does not seem very professional, does he respond to everyone like he responded to me? If so I can only fell sorry for him.

I didn't even expect it

This weekend I went to Hp40 to do some climbing after more than a month off. I first hit up a few routes that I had worked on last time I was there, mostly V2s, one of which was Dope. Dope is a very short route with a horrible top of slopers. When I we got around to Dope some people where on it so I threw down my pad right by Mum Boy a V4. I had no expectation of even doing a few of the moves on it, I was just waiting for Dope to open up so I could conquer what had abused me on my last visit. Well the guys on Dope notice me watching them and asked if I wanted to try it so I did and topped out on my first try. So I went back to Mum Boy which by now they were climbing too. After I saw a few of their attempts on it I gave it a try. On my fourth try I knew that I could get it the next time so I chalked up and went for it. I hit the first sloper and immediately grabbed the next, I knew then that I had it and just walked my feet up and stood on top of the beautiful rock. It was a great feeling, and an incentive to continue to push myself and to climb on!
